Your little one’s special day!

July 15, 2011

Upcoming special event, a kid’s party marked heavily on the calendar. There are dozens of themes to decide on. Getting the one that expresses the heart of the party with the important person in mind is a daunting task especially for first time moms. The first thing to do is to pin down a theme; all the cooking and the decorating rely heavily on which theme was decided. Smart moms start working with the Kids Birthday Invitations. It basically spins ideas and lets out all artistic flair that has been vaulted for a long time.

A surprise?

June 15, 2011

Now this is supposed to be a surprise but my sister had to tell me. My parents are coming in less than two weeks! Yay! I was instructed to “act surprised”. Haha! I should practice that. I am not very good at acting, you see.

But the kids don’t know, so it’s definitely going to be a surprise for them. I really miss my folks, I have not seen them in a year. Hubby has gone home for two weeks, so they have somehow caught up while he was there. Funny I did not think I was away from them that long because we skype and call every now and then. Technology does make the world small, right? And so do cheap flights! haha!

I wonder what I should get them? Maybe I should order flowers online— it would be a late gift for their 42nd wedding anniversary which they celebrated 2 months ago. Gosh, I am so counting the days!

Shopping for accessories

April 22, 2011

My sister decided to shop for beauty accessories here in Thailand to sell in our home country. I did have fun shopping with her– and I got to see lots of Thailand products, too. Thailand is undoubtedly one of the world’s silver jewelry producers.

This is Platinum Fashion Mall located in Pratu Naam, where we shopped.  The neighboring buildings are shopping complexes as well.

It was a challenge choosing the right designs for her limited budget… but she is planning to come back sometime and buy some more. If not, I could do it for her. We have not seen chamilia jewelry, here though. Maybe in more high end shops.

There are really lots of shops to choose from for wholesale shopping here in Thailand. It was my first time to go with her, but I think there are still so much to explore to “shop ’til you drop” here in Asia’s shopping capital!

Telling the time

April 15, 2011

Our 5-year old boy really wants to learn how to tell the time.  We bought a clock for him so he could look at the clock daily and try to tell the time.  At his age, he is not that interested to read and write yet, but he loves to draw and talk a lot.  I mean a lot! I think it doesn’t take a genius to know where he got this from. Haha! 🙂

I think I would be getting him a watch before classes start so that he would be conscious of the time and would also learn to tell it all by himself.  G shock Watches has lots of choices to choose from. Hubby just got his, and I am sure our boy would be proud to have a watch just like his dad’s!

Another trip to the airport!

April 15, 2011

Our trip to the airport for the kids’ arrival 2 weeks ago was perhaps one of the most unforgettable time I had in my life. The excitement to finally see them after 10 months of not being together was something I could still remember up to now. It was an emotional reunion, with lots of tears, hugs and laughter.

My sister brought our two kids, which was brave of her. I know our boy is very active and cannot stay put, but she managed to bring all two kids safely into our arms, surviving two domestic airports in the Philippines and lots of waiting in-between.

The trolley with casters were such a huge help, since she just had to put all the bags there. No sweat.
Chatting with my sister.  Look how loaded her trolley was!  That’s Ria, our 9-year old daughter beside me.  Hubby and our 5-year old boy are right behind us.

Anyways, we will be going to the airport on Monday to send off hubby. He will be going to the Philippines for an ear check up. To the airport we go… again. But this time would not be as happy.

Swimming with the kids

April 15, 2011

This swimming place is just one short ride from our place.  This is the swimming pool of The Mall Bangkapi.  Yes, the pool is on the top floor of the mall!

Ria and Jez swimming with friends

I did not swim during this time with the kids.  It was too hot that day, and a friend volunteered to watch over the kids.  Plus the pool has at least 5 lifeguards who are in constant lookout.

When the kids swim, I cannot help but be envious: first, they have all the energy– lots of them! and  second, they don’t have stubborn fats and skin problems to be conscious about!

I have been looking at some swimsuits for sale lately so that I could also swim with the kids next time.  Sadly, I have gained so much weight and I am not so comfortable wearing a swimsuit! Haha.. Maybe I would first need a good cellulite treatment before I could wear a swimsuit with pride. LOL. 🙂

Taking turns

April 15, 2011

As I write this post, the kids are napping– and so is hubby.  I like the peace and quiet, and most of all, the computer is free for me to use.  We had been taking turns in using the computer these days.  Someone borrowed my computer, and we gave our TV away.

The kids watch movies here, hubby wants to surf the net, I want to blog.  Poor computer, I think it seriously needs a rest! Haha.

I guess it’s time for us to buy a TV. We should look into catalogs of lg tvs and agree what model we want. That way, everybody will be happy!

Meantime, “taking turns” and “patience” are virtues we are learning as a family at this time. Hopefully when the tv comes, we would still be patient with each other and not to forget to still take turns. After all, that’s what families are all about, isn’t it?
