Afraid of bullies

April 15, 2011

I guess every kid goes through a stage where they could be bullied.  I was once teased for my extra-ordinarily curly hair.  My 8-year old daughter is told her front teeth are way too big.  I had to explain to her that those are part of growing up pains. 🙂

Today I watched this video of  seven-year old Samantha Shaw  who had to undergo plastic surgery– the only solution her parents could think of to ward off school yard bullies.

Wow, shooing off bullies could be done in such a high-tech way nowadays.

For teen agers now I guess the struggle would be to find natural acne remedies so as not to shoo off the boys away! Haha..

Anyways, back to that video, one of the things that impressed me was that so many famous, brilliant people even had big, unusual ears themselves! I believe no impediment could ever stop us from attaining our full potential, or in reaching our dreams.

With or without plastic surgery, I know we could remain to be beautiful if we could only see ourselves as one!

A visit to Bangkok!

April 10, 2011

While my sister Reyna was here in Bangkok for 10 days, I made it a point to take her to Wat Phra Kew, one of the famous Buddhist temples in Bangkok. It is where the Emerald Buddha is, and literally thousands of tourists flock this Buddhist holy ground everyday. Next to this temple is the Royal palace, home of the Royal family. But now this palace is no longer inhabited, since it has become one of the tourist attractions of Bangkok.
We admired the beautiful landscape of the place and how the lawn was neatly trimmed. I wonder if they use zero turn mowers? Although the Grand Palace is closed, we enjoyed taking photos of the grand structure—I feel like I was taken back in time and I have to say, I felt like a princess there. Haha.

Beautifully-manicured lawn of the Grand Palace

I took my sister to the reclining Buddha inside Wat Po, another temple within the vicinity. A visit to Thailand can mean a visit to a million and one temples, and lots of good food to taste! So if you plan to come and visit Amazing Thailand, get your feet ready for lots of walking, put lots of sunscreen on, thicken your purse for some shopping and yes, your tongue for some extra hot and spicy Thai cuisine! After all that, a nice Thai massage can be a perfect way to end your day.

That speedy ride

April 4, 2011

The other night the whole family went to an amusement park here in Bangkok. I am not really a fan of scary rides, so I was comfortable with taking pictures, looking after the kids while they had a blast.

Heights have always been one of my greatest fears, and so is speed. I have ridden on a roller coaster only once in my life, and that was like more than 10 years ago!

Before we left, I got challenged by our 5-year old boy who enjoyed a mini roller coaster ride called “speedy mouse”. If my boy could do it, why can’t I? I thought.

That’s me on the front seat… funny, my neck was so stiff! I was trying my best not to scream at the top of my lungs… I was kind of ashamed that the oldest person on board would be that noisy! LOL! 🙂

I had a good time. I mean the child in me had a blast! But I could only wish I still have baby/child’s skin. Revitol reviews caught my attention– because honestly, I don’t want to wrinkle as fast as that speedy ride I just had!

I mean, if we can’t put wrinkling on hold, at least could we slow it down? 😀

I need my sunnies, please!

March 23, 2011

I am not very confident of having my close up photos taken.  I would need my sunnies for that!  🙂

Well, it’s because I have yet to find out how to get rid of dark circles. I have deep seated eyes and have naturally dark circles– plus I am such an owl it makes it worse. I wonder if I would ever get normal looking circles around the eyes.

I guess I have to try some creams aside from cold cucumbers and carrots placed on my tired eyes. Hmm, I am looking forward to that time when I don’t need my trusty sunnies and can smile before a camera, no matter how close it may be!

See? I told you. This is not even a close up photo but I still needed my sunnies! sigh.
